RORO is the most common way to ship a vehicle overseas. A RORO refers to a vehicle which is Rolled On and Off a ship or vessel. RORO shipping is less expensive because you are charged only for the vehicle space it takes on a RORO ship. RoRo shipping is a reliable and speedy shipping method when shipping a car from the USA to your destination port in Africa. RoRo method allows driving your vehicle on-and-off the ship with its wheels. The vehicle is strapped to the ship’s deck to keep it from shifting around during the ocean voyage. The only items permitted inside the car are the spare tire along with the jack. Most car shippers preffer the RORO shipping method.

Important info when shipping a car overseas from the USA

No car can leave USA if it has a lien on it. What does this mean? Your car must be paid in full. The only people who can ship a car overseas and still carry a lien on the car are US Military and Government employees/contractors. For those people a letter of authorization from the lender will need to be issued to pass US Customs. Otherwise the car may be considered stolen. A clear Title of Ownership with no Liens on the Title.

If you bought a car new, then your name must be listed on the front of the Title as the registered owner. If the vehicle has been sold, then both the Seller and Buyer have to sign the back of the Title in the spaces as detailed on the back of the Title. For safety reasons, the vehicle cannot have more than a 1/4 tank of gas.

RORO Car Shipping Process:

• You deliver the car to a terminal at the port of loading, or we can deliver it for you.
• The car is received by the terminal, no inspection report is done.
• No photographs are taken unless arranged with the client or driver.
• The car is stored outdoor at the terminal prior to loading.
• The client collects his/her car upon arrival at the destination port.
• Destination fees for RORO are less than those for shared container.
